Mrs. Hilborn is excited to begin her first full school year with SBCA after joining the staff as a counselor mid-way through the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Hilborn is from Shreveport, Louisiana and moved to South Boston just two years ago! Mrs. Hilborn received her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Child Studies with a concentration in Child Development from Louisiana Tech University, then went on to receive her Master’s in Social Work from LSU. Mrs. Hilborn has experience working with children and families through adoption, cancer patient services, and mental health as well as recreational camps and leisure activities. She is excited to now be a part of a school community! Mrs. Hilborn hopes to continue supporting the health and well-being of every child who comes through the door, knowing that school is—second to the home—the most important place for a child to feel safe, loved, and known. In her free time, Mrs. Hilborn enjoys being outdoors (in the warmer months), traveling, and spending time with her husband and beloved yellow lab, Charles.
