Grade 1B had an excellent time on their trip to Israel. We packed our bags, filled out our tickets and passports.( authentic reasons to write) The children had jobs and took their responsibilities seriously. (connection to their own lives)The children learned alot about the places we visited- Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Dead Sea, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Sea of Galilee and much more. Our tour guides were well informed and shared important info with us.(oral language) We used our smartboard for info and our map skills. The children enjoyed the interactive map and pictures. Ella’s grandmother-Mrs. Foley visited our class and shared pictures and her memories of her trip to Israel. They children loved it! Their favorite story was about Shepherd’s Field. Mrs. Foley made it seem like we were right there!!
We will be traveling to China for our next trip. We hope to be celebrating Chinese New Year while we are there. Stay tuned….
