In the art room

October 18th, 2011

Some creepy images have been appearing in the art room!  In grade 6 students used white glue to paint a Halloween portrait on black paper.  After the glue dried they used chalk pastels to add color!  In grade 3 we are creating symmetrical “scarries” by drawing only half the image and using a simple graphite transfer procedure.  Picasso is also inspiring some crazy witches in grade 4 this week.

Last week in grade 5 students created beautiful watercolor paintings of birch trees! In honor of last week’s anniversary of Apollo 7, the children made portraits of astronauts. Secondary colors have inspired grade 2 to create fabulous pumpkin paintings.

Thanks to everyone who ordered a t-shirt, they will be sent home on Tuesday, October 18th!
