At the center of South Boston Catholic Academy’s work is a commitment to student learning and high achievement.

Our extensive curriculum begins in our Early Childhood Program (Pre-K and K1), which is a part of the highly regarded Lynch Foundation Early Childhood Project.  Teachers create an environment that nurtures the social and emotional well-being of all students in order for effective learning to take place.  Through the engaging curriculum, children play in order to achieve high learning goals.  The OWL program, “Opening the World of Learning,” is a comprehensive, integrated curriculum that helps students develop language and early literacy skills. In addition to helping children grow in all content areas, OWL helps them to build personal and social skills. This rewarding curriculum is enriched by fun, hands-on activities.  Additionally, teachers receive scholarships to complete their Master’s in Early Childhood education.

Our enthusiastic teachers are what makes this program so special, and we are excited to continually provide a nurturing environment for our youngest students to flourish.

Faith is a key component of our cultural legacy and our understanding of the full development of the whole person. Under the thoughtful guidance of Father Robert Casey, the rites of Catholic Church are celebrated and the spiritual strength of all faiths are appreciated.

Our community comes together for morning prayer, monthly Mass and the celebration of the Sacraments as well as for competitive sports and cultural presentations. Our emphasis is on creating moral citizens of the world, building community, embracing the idea of service to others and developing leadership skills. Community service and faith learning projects are incorporated with the daily curriculum.

Father Casey and Principal Nancy Carr work closely together to ensure that all faiths feel welcome.
