Mrs. Jamie Brown – Assistant Principal
Jamie Brown is the Assistant Principal at South Boston Catholic Academy, where she has previously worked as a teacher and instructional leader. She was a member of the Lynch Leadership Academy’s fifth cohort, where she obtained a principal’s licensure as well as sharpened her educational leadership skills through her professional coursework and coaching.
Professionally, Mrs. Brown has served on the Boston Foundation’s Teacher Advisory Board. Through this work, Mrs. Brown saw the benefit of cross-sector collaboration and the importance of all teachers and leaders coming together. Additionally, Mrs. Brown has participated in the Instructional Rounds Network, the Achievement Network, and has been both a presenter and participant at the Summer Technology Academy. Mrs. Brown’s engagement within these different capacities has fueled her passion for school improvement with a focus on leveraging technology.
Originally a New Jersey native, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Boston College where she received a B.A. in Elementary Education/Human Development. She continued her work at Boston College where she received an M.A. in Applied Developmental and Educational Psychology. Jamie also spent time in Melbourne, Australia, where she had the opportunity to teach and study abroad. After college, she worked for Boston College implementing and coordinating the International Student Teaching program, where she placed undergraduates in various teaching positions in several countries on six different continents.
